Moree is located in Northern NSW, close to the QLD border. Moree is 5 hours drive from Brisbane, 7.5 hours from Sydney and 5 hours from Yamba, on the NSW north coast. A twice daily 1.5 hour flight is offered by Qantaslink direct to Sydney domestic airport. Daily bus services to Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney operate as well as daily train services to Sydney.

The town of Moree has a population of 10,000 and the surrounding Moree Plains Shire has a population of 15,000 people.

Moree is located on the Gwydir / Mehi River system which is part of the Murray Darling Basin and is the major commercial, banking, business and shopping centre for the surrounding area. The town offers all conveniences including a large shopping centre, large choice of primary and secondary schools and excellent medical services.
